Several users have reported an issue in which the setting to can not be used Wi-Fi on your iPhone 6 ,touch appears grayed out and this makes it impossible for users to turn Wi-Fi on, while other functions are normal. How to fix Wi-Fi issue:
Repair Process
After teardown, we find the Wi-Fi chip is gone and 6 pins on solder pad are removed. Fixed with Soldering jump Wire and paint green UV SOLDER MASK , as shown in picture 1-28. Reassemble a Wi-Fi chip and test after power on, the Wi-Fi can be used now. But Bluetooth displays no address and cannot be turned on.
Dissemble Wi-Fi chip and measure the diode data of the solder pad. Pin 10’s data is OL. This is the signal BT_REG_ON that suggests the Bluetooth has been turned on.
Signal BT_REG_ON is sent by power IC to the pin 10 of Wi-Fi chip through the circuit board. Then it reaches the test point PP3154_RF. Test point PP3154_RF is shown in picture 1-29.
Because the diode data of test point PP3154_RF is also OL, any enameled wire cannot start from the point. If soldering jump wire is needed here, it should start from the power chip after removing power chip. But this way costs too much time.
Try to dig a hole on solder pad, so directly turn on WLAN_REG_ON on pin 9 of Wi-Fi chip and jump a wire at the same place, sharing the opening signal of Wi-Fi, as shown in picture 1-30.
Testing iPhone, the function of Wi-Fi chip and Bluetooth is normal. It is normal to use the iPhone with opening of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together and separately. Trouble is removed.
